Ashley posing for photos

We had always been wondering how come Ashley can pose so naturally whenever she's in front of a camera!! See this one, it was after a jogging session on a sat (day before adwin's birthday party)!

And Adwin's pose, as always... (enjoying his H2O)

Ashley injury

Ok been quite a long while since I post an entry here again... Am wondering if I can reach my target of the 100 postings for this year!!

Back to my topic here... Ashley had hurt her left foot when she went for a cycling trip with her uncle (WL's bro) on a tuesday evening (14 Dec) after dinner at my MIL's place. Seriously I was really upset and guilty. Firstly, when they left the house and me seeing my BIL pushing out the bike, my first thought was "would she get hurt if she were to be riding at the back seat?"! I always feel there's a mother's instinct in me, so I always do not allow my kids to participate in certain activity if I can sense a danger in it. And lucky thing is, I had not allowed Adwin to follow, as I know no one would be able to handle him if he throw a tantrum and especially when I heard my BIL's wife asked him "who to take care of him if he follows?". Secondly, I can't blame anyone here for the accident, only myself, if I had insisted not allowing Ashley to follow!

Anyway, I really hope Ashley learned her lesson, as I had told her, no one knows how to take good care of her except for her mummy. And if she continue to always act on her own decision she is the only one to suffer if things were to go wrong somewhere. I believe all doting parents would feel this way for their children!

The picture below is after 2 days and had been covered with medicine.

Adwin's 3 Year Old Birthday at home...

This is the first time Adwin had a Birthday party and he was really happy and excited about it!!  Especially after we put up the Birthday banner at home, he was really looking forward to it (as we put up on Friday but party will only be held on Sunday... :p)

I realised I had forgotten to take the photo all the goodie bags we had prepared... The last one taken was 2 years back, when we prepared for Ashley's 3 year old celebration in the childcare... Haha...  Anyway, I had customised some Birthday pencils this year, with the kids' name on it "Adwin is 3 today! 12122010" the same for Ashley (as I had forgotten to blog about this in her Birthday Party entry... :p)

The party was mainly for family and close friends, also as a house warming party, since we moved in in mid Sept.  And since it's a smaller place compared to our old house, we can't invite too many, the house will be super duper cramp!!!

Ok, back to Adwin's party, we decided a Toy Story theme at home, since he likes Buzz Lightyear & Woody.  I had planned to get him a customised birthday banner, but was not in time somehow... so what did I do??  I did up the banner MYSELF, meaning, doing up the artwork and FIND someone to print the banner out for me!! & I am super impressed with MYSELF! Haha... Everyone I spoke to who knows the banner was done by me, say it's very nice and the quality is good, as in the artwork was done only in MS PAINT & not any other professional photo editing software!!  Well, maybe I can start to think of doing some business in Customising Children's Birthday Banner!!! Haha...

Adwin had 2 cakes this year, a Toy Story cake from us and a Jelly MacQueen cake from his 公公!!  The jelly cake taste as good and the size of our Toy Story cake was just nice!! Perfect!!

Adwin was really happy with ALL his presents and since he saw Ashley's having so many presents during her 5th Birthday Party, he had been lamenting how come jie-jie got so many presents but he did not... SO, it's his moment now!!  The party ended around 3+pm after everyone left our house, we were trying really hard to get the kids to nap, cos they were really still in the 'mood' of partying and keep asking why had everyone gone back home?? We still want to party!! Haha... so, their 'nap' ending up starting only at 5pm!  And by the time they are up, it's DINNER time!!  & after their dinner, its time for opening up of presents, so you can imagine what time they ended up in bed for the day!!  Anyway, the most important is, Adwin really enjoys his birthday, so do we!! Haha... :p

Here's a better view of his banner!!

Adwin's 3 Year Old celebration in Childcare

This is the first time Adwin celebrates his birthday with such a big group of friends!!  As he had been promoted to N2, so they had moved to the Kinder Bay, meaning K2 (Ashley's class), K1 & N2 are being allocated there and this year, the classes are all pretty big and comes celebration, there's a total of about 60 kids, excluding the Teachers!!

When we reached the CC, the kids just woke up from their naps and Ashley & Adwin were really happy to see us there with the cake!!  And Adwin was busy keeping his mattress cover when he sees me and I can see that he was trying to open his eyes to confirm that its Mummy standing there!!!

After the celebration, we brought the kids to Causeway point Gelare for their ice-cream, as I promised them during the Dino show, as they were asking for ice-cream in the middle of the show!!

Anyway, we are looking forward to his actual birthday party at home the coming Sunday, 12122010!! :)

Walking with Dinosaurs - 2010 Singapore

WL was not sure if the kids would like the show, but we thought to let them watch The Jurassic Park they should be able to sit through the 1-1/2 hours of Walk with Dinosaurs show!!  True enough, after they watched the DVD, they were really eager to go for the Dino show!!  And they had been talking about Dino since then!! Haha...

Lucky we were really early for the show, had bought the tixs for 8 Dec, 8pm show, but we reached Indoor Stadium at about 7pm!! An hour early, that's very rare for US! Haha... Most of the time, we would arrive just in time for shows!!  And cos we were early, we managed to have a picture taken for the kids with no one else around, since the poster was SO HUGE!!  And there's a M1 booth taking video of us with a virtual Dino in the video, but till today still have not receive them thru email yet!!

As usual, lots of merchandise will be on sale at such show event.  Ashley asked for a plush T-Rex, Adwin decided he wanted a Dino T-shirt & a Dino tail!!  So we asked him to wear them on his Birthday Party this coming Sunday @ home!! Haha.. He happily agreed & hope he can keep his words!! Haha...

As for the show, personally I feel they did a good job, all the Dinos are really huge, and moving them around was not easy!!  I like the props that were put on stage, the flowers, plants, trees, are really bright and when the air blown, it's really nice!!

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

Ok, this is a place which I had refused to go whenever WL mentioned it... Cos to me, it's a place we go and feed the mosquitos!!!  *sob sob*

Anyway, I agreed to bring the kids there for a walk since their childcare is closed for 2 days for the redecoration of the classes for the new school term.  We brought the kids to Mac breakfast, as it's their favourite and since I switched Ashley's art class to Friday evening, they hardly get a chance to go Mac for breakfast now.  I brought along with me anti-mosquito patches as well as the anti-mosquitos lotion to apply... ehm, I guess it was effective if we remember to apply after an hour or so, cos the lotion gets wiped away when we became sweaty... As we got quite a bit of mosquito bites towards the end of the walk.. :(

Oh ya, forgot to mention, we had to pay for the admission, due to the School Holidays, as we missed out this clause on the website, only thought that it's chargeable on weekends and free on weekdays...

I was really surprised we managed to catch a glimpse of 6 Iguanas throughout the walk... & they are really HUGE!!  I was really frightened, not sure if the kids are... haha...  Anyway, the kids were hoping to see crocodiles, as there were some signboards saying to WATCH OUT for them!  Which I hope they DO NOT appear!!!  :p

Anyway, I WOULD NOT wanna come again... thank you!! :p

Christmas Lightings @ Orchard

We decided to take some pictures of the Xmas Lightings at Orchard this year, since they are up, so better go early to avoid the crowd...

The kids were asking to take a pic with Santa, but sadly, we can't find any Santa Claus, except for the tiny Santa on the shoulder of the Giant at Triple-One Orchard...

And I realised for this year, most malls are just displaying some huge Xmas Trees, unlike the olden times, where malls will try to come up with interesting decos for Xmas, sad to say, Xmas lightings are not as interesting now and not really a thing I look forward to... :(  And only interesting thing this year is, there are 2 malls (which we went) that have openings to the Huge Xmas Tree, Raffle City Shopping Center & ION... Go have a look yrself... :)

Lunch @ Iggys

Ehm... I thought to post the pics of the FOOD only... This was the place WL had been wanting to visit for a LONG LONG time... since he said they ARE one of the Top restaurant in the World!!

We had finally made a trip down for lunch on our 'special date'... But he was really disappointed from the look I get.... Ehm, firstly, he complained about the kitchen being situated just next to the dining area & we can really hear the cutting, chopping, blending & cooking noise... which he say should not be the case especially when this is FINE dining place!!  And secondly, the food served was really not up to his expectations, be it the serving & the taste...  But anyway, like I told him, it's a 'Been there, Done that' thing... & don't think we will go back AGAIN, unless someone is giving us a treat!! Haha...

I can only try to recall SOME of the dishes here... sorry for my poor memory... haha... :p  Oh yes, while I was trying to recall which dish came first, Appetizer & Starter started to confuse me & after some checks online, actually BOTH are the SAME thing!! Haha... So, are some restaurants here being kiasu to serve 2 of them before the main course??...

Trying to catch up with my postings... AGAIN!!

Ehm... after going thru my photo folders, THEN I realised my postings are not up to date AGAIN!! Haha... or is it we have been taking too much photos??!!

December is a busy month for me... which I do not understand why... Though only Adwin's Birthday falls in December... other than that, is Christmas and we do not have Christmas party to be busy with... so I do not understand WHY am I SO BUSY??!!  I guess also due to the kids' childcare will be closed for a few days to decorate the different class due to students being promoted!!  Anyway... I should not be finding excuses NOT to update my blog, correct??... Haha... :p

Kids with their new sunglasses

The 2 had been asking for sunglasses when I sent them to school every morning cos the sun had been shining onto their face!! Haha... I managed to get something they liked, but I think its still very new to them and they are treating them like toys!!

In fact, I did not expect Ashley's pair to be such a big one, and she was complaining till I show her a picture of Barbie wearing sunglasses exactly the same as hers, except that hers are with some blinds at the corners! And she was so excited she got a pair just like Barbie!!

And Adwin was glad he got a pair which has his favorite 'soldier' print on!! Haha...

Meet & Greet -- Toy Story 3

Christmas is coming... So you will see all the malls trying to attract more shoppers by bringing in some Kids favourite characters... and we know about Parkway bringing in Toy Story as we were there the past 2 weeks and saw lots of Toy Story 3 banners all around the mall... And WL managed to get the date on ST... There is Buzz Lightyear & Woody Meet & Greet coming the last Sunday, 21 Nov... so, I took the challenge to bring my 2 kids there... as WL will be in the tuition center... tough challenge for me!!!  haha...

Ok, first, I need to make a purchase of at least $30 so they can have a chance to meet & greet Buzz & Woody, and it starts at 1pm... we reached there around 11:15am and have to settle our lunch and make my purchase before we head to queue for the Meet & Greet ticket which will be distributed 30mins before and it's limited, so will have to make full use of the time....

Here's the ticket for the Meet & Greet...

And here's the much awaited picture...

See how tightly Adwin holds on to me... He almost backed out when we were queueing to get on stage... But when I assured him that I'll be up with him, then he reluctantly say OK, but after the shot, he keep saying he likes Buzz & Woody!! OMG....

Little Greenhouse Graduation Performance 2010

The kids had been practising all the dances in school for about 6 months and had been waiting eagerly for the day to come!!  And especially Ashley, she had been asking me when would she be performing for us starting from July, but the dates were not realised till October this year.  This is Adwin's first performance, he looks quite good on stage!!  Haha... During his practise in school, he was quite reluctant to dance, the Teachers had told me he's quite lazy... haha... and Adwin ever told me, Teacher say must dance, else can't go home!!  So, during his full dress rehearsal, he did dance & the Teachers had praised him, he's really happy with the praises!! haha...

There was abit of over run this year, I guess should be due to the number of items and also seems that the Yishun branch had got a bigger group compared to the Marigold one... I can understand how tough it is to lead an ARMY of small children on stage..   I must say, it is really an amazing performance being put up by them!! All the way to go... Little Greenhouse!! :)  And 3 cheers for all the Teachers!!  Hip Hip Hooray!!!...

Now is the time for... PHOTOS! :)

Sorry for the quality of the photos... as we were seated at the last row in the theatre, and my zooming feature is not as good... :(  Shall get a better camera next year!!!  Haha... But, we will be seated in the first 2 rows as next year is Ashley's graduating year!!!

Here's the photo of the finale with the song... Rainbow Connection...

Ashley had her ears pierced

Ashley had been asking me to bring her to pierce her ears, so she can wear nice earrings! And I had been telling her that it will be painful but she insists she can bear with it.

And I happened to see the ear piercing ad in a goldsmith shop last evening while getting bread for their breakfast. So it was really a impromptu decision to bring her in to fulfill her wish!

I must say she is really brave, even though I asked her to decide before the ladies prepare the piercing, she was really firm and gave me a clear and loud, yes I want! I remembered during my times, ear piercing was done ear by ear, meaning they would pierce the right then the left, but to my surprise, the ladies had 2 guns and they can pierce both ears together!! Which is good o prevent kids from running away after piercing one side of the ear!! Haha...

Ashley was really happy after the piercing though she sat it's really painful and adwin really had a shock seeing Ashley's ears being pierced!!

Anyway, before she goes to bed, she told mr her ears are not painful anymore!! She even told mr right after piercing, shes going to tell all her friends about it tomorrow in school!!! Haha... That's my girl!!

Performance day

Finally... The day for their performance has come!!! Haha... I had been waiting since adwin joined childcare!! As this is the first time the kids will perform together!! They had to be in school by 7am for make up and be at the auditorium by 930am. This year, the tickets were 100% sold, meaning full house!! Here's a sneak preview of the kids in their first performance outfit w/o make up:

Wondering what Ashley is wearing?? Yes, it's a bathrobe!! As she will be dancing the song 我爱洗澡!! And she told me shes the leader for this song and will be standing in the front center!! Next will be Dancing Queen!!! For adwin, I do not know what's the title of the song he will be performing, they keep telling me it's a hi-5 song, so am clueless!!! But for the Chinese song, it's 踏浪, an old song, anyone hears the song will go... Ah? Which century does this song comes from??!! Haha...

Jogging

This is our first visit to the stadium after our move. The kids had been asking for jogging session for a long time but due to the rainy season we didn't make it!

Ashley really enjoys jogging and she keeps jogging till I ask her to stop! Adwin complain of tummyache after about 100m jog, which I thought should be due to him drinking water after his nap. But he still insist on jogging after that and also ran about 2 rounds!

Here's a far view of Ashley and daddy...

Painting

The kids just love to do painting and I find it's really not cheap to have a session, the picture prices range from $6 to $11 and most of the time their selection is from the highest range!! I had actually bought some suncatcher materials from the States, the difference is that it does not require any oven to bake it dry but I also do not know how long does it take for the suncatcher to dry naturally!! Haha...

My kids went missing

This is the first time my 2 kids went missing together!! Haha... We were at Tampines Ikea for lunch and were doing some shopping before that. After our check out, I headed to the wrapping corner to wrap my breakable things. And I saw the 2 kids playing some games near the wrapping corner. After we are done, we can't find our 2 kids!! And after some looking around, I finally saw my 2 kids being taken away by a Malay lady staff of Ikea. And WL ran forward to claim the 2 kids!! Haha.. He said the 2 were crying terrible while being led away... When I asked ashley if the lady asked for her name she say no, and if the lady asked who they were looking for, she also say no. But she told us, only Adwin cried and say "I want my mummy!" haha... Really funny...

Trying to post 100 postings in my blog this year...

HAHA!!!!  Am trying to post more entries in my blogs, hoping to reach 100 entries by end of this year... possible?? haha... I do not know really... :p

Realised I had been blogging for 4 years... and of cos, I had intended to start earlier, especially after Ashley came around and after I started working again since I step into Motherhood... but all had been delayed... Anyhow, I just hope I can continue to update to this blog, especially on the grow and well-being of my 2 children.

When I look at them now, I can really see them grow, of cos physically it's very obvious... as they will run around now, but of cos, at times they will still want to be carry... ehm, I would try to carry them if I can, but most of the time, my arms are really tired and they are heavy too!!  Like what my friend told me, to appreciate them NOW that they still want me... haha... I also can imagine, especially when Ashley starts Primary 1 in another years time, I guess she may not want me to be around her too often... :p  it does sadden me when I thought of this myself, but I guess kids grow, and I can't possibly tied them to me always, they will have their friends and things they would do without me...  Yes, I may be scolding them most of the time now, but deep inside, I also try to control.  I do not know if they will continue to be so naughty in another years time, but currently, they already have their own set of thinking and doing things, which I do not understand at times!!  And I also try to recall if am like that when I was at their age!!  Haha...  But really, kids nowadays are so much different from MY times...  The most obvious part is in their education, I remember only going to school at the age of 6, and only attending Kindergarten for a year before I proceed to Primary 1, but Ashley & Adwin started going to school at the tender age of 2years & 3months only!! So much difference!! And Ashley started weekly Spelling or Dictation at Kindergarten 1, which is 5 years old!! I guess for me, it was like in Primary school!! And WL was teaching her some simple multiplications last night, I remember my multiplications was only in Primary 3??!!!  See the difference??

Anyway, I just hope my kids can grow up happily and healthy (these 2 are the most impt), and of course, to be able to do what they like and have a good education so they do not need to slog when they step into the working world... :)

Henderson Waves...

We finally make our way to Henderson Waves!!! Haha... It's been quite sometime since WL mentioned to FIND this Henderson waves... The last time we went to hunt for this was like 6mths back??!!  Anyway, we found our way after downloading the HOW TO GET THERE from the Parks website... :p

Anyway, it's a "Been There Done That" mentality... haha... The kids seems to enjoy the bridge more than us.. cos they were really around and having so much fun with the steps at the sides... After this, we went to Commonwealth for dinner, as WL wanted to try the 'zi char' there, as it was featured in one of the episode in 'Zhu Chao Lai Le' variety show in Ch. 8!! Ehm, must say, the dishes were quite nice and unique, but to queue for more then 30mins may not make it worth while... :p

Chong Pang Community Day

I was not really aware of this Community Day, as we only signed Ashley up for the Drawing competition through the Art class she attended.  And really, to sign her up for such competitions were really just for fun, we did not expect her to win, not that Ashley drawings are bad, just that most of her drawings got no theme and we always allow her to go for freestyle drawings, i.e. to draw what she likes and what comes to her mind!!  And we were really glad and surprised that she got 1 of the Consolation prizes, it's a $30 NTUC voucher!!

Anyway, the kids enjoyed this Community day, as they get to see and touch their favourite vehicles!!  Police car, bike and a van, and (I really do not know what it's call) the Fire Truck??!! :p  And they also got the Fireman's hat... which they liked too!  And after this, they told me "Mama, today is a happy day!!..." haha... cos whenever they feel happy, they will say that day is a Happy Day!!
