2nd born pushing 1st born in the car

The photos had been pending since last month!!

hahaha... See my poor son pushing the jie-jie in the car... :( I feel so sad that the jie-jie is not loving him as much as he is towards her. He'll always do what Ashley tells him to, from picking her things up from the floor, carry her tortoise to pushing her in the car, even talking also he does as what is told by her!!

This car was bought for 1st born by her gong-gong about 3 years back... But had not bring the car back, all along was at my parent's house and now the 2 kids are enjoying the car, taking turns to sit in and be pushed but the other. It's supposed to be a automated car, but my dad find it too fast for the kids, so had never turn on the power for them to ride in.

Adwin speech progress

I had wanted to jot down Adwin's speech development, as we feel he's really good in his speech compared to Ashley. Ashley can't really speak at the age of 2year 3mths, as this is the age we put her into full day childcare. At that time, I was really worried she get bullied in the center and not able to tell us or speak up. But after some time, I found she was a 'bully' in the center... hahaha... as a consolation to me, is she will not get bullied!! I don't know if that's the mentality of all mummies.

Ok, back to the development of Adwin's speech. In fact, we are very impressed with his development, and I actually contribute this to Ashley. As Adwin would follow Ashley whenever she's around. And he's picking up everything Ashley said, that is why people say, children's brain is just like a piece of sponge, they'll absorb whatever they hear, which I totally agree!! In fact, before Adwin turns 1 year old, he's able to differentiate 'Ma-ma' & 'Pa-pa' and gladly, his first word is 'Ma-ma' & 'Nai-nai' (which means milk!)

There were many occasions, when we ask Adwin to speak up, he just stared at us, but when Ashley ask him to say something, he'll gladly say it after him!!

1) Now, at his age, 17mths, whenever I bring him to the bedroom to sleep, he'll point to me and say "Jie-jie, lai, or-or", which means "sister, come, sleep".

2) He had also associate darkness with sleeping!! So, whenever, he sees night time, he'll turn to me and say "an-an" (darkness) and I would ask him, so what do we do when it's dark? He'll reply, "or-or" (sleep)! hahaha...

3) By the age of 1, he is able to tell me when he wants milk, he'll turn to me and say, "Nai-nai", partly I feel it's due to him still being breast-fed, he will not just cry for his milk, he'll always tell me he want "nai-nai"!

4) Recently, due to the serial on ch8 about Ping Pong (table-tennis), WL had bought a pair of the bats at home and Adwin can bring the 2 bats & pass to the daddy & tell him "ping-pang", indicating he wanna play!

5) Adwin is also able to hum "Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars" at about 13-14 mths old, this really impresses me!! He loves this song so much, whenever my mum sings the chinese version to him, he'll have the stars action, opening & closing of hand high up!! Now at 17mths old, he tries to sing the song! hahaha... And he really loves music, whenever he hears music, he'll clap his hands and would ask me to join him in clapping! Even when we are outside shopping!!

6) And he is able to address all our family members correctly!! Ma-ma, Pa-pa, Jie-jie, Yi-yi, Yi-zhang, Po-po, Gong-gong, Ye-ye, Nai-nai, even my mum's maid, ka-ka... but sometimes he address her as "apa", cos whenever my mum calls my maid, she would ask "apa"! haha... there was an incident last week, where the maid went to the corridor to do laundry and Adwin was standing at the door, calling out "apa" a few times, seeing that she did not response to him, he shouted her name "anah"!! hahaha... that's how naughty my Adwin is!!

7) He's really afraid of insects and would should "ga-ga" (insects) if he sees one, after which, he'll pat his chest & tell us, "pa-pa" (scare) and point to that insect! Even when he sees one in a book, magazine or papers, he's sure to do this!

All these makes me feel that, my kids are really growing up so fast.. hope I can do something about my job, so I can have more time with them... :(

Mother's Day

So fast, Mother's day is here again... And by right, Ashley would have done up a card for me from her childcare... BUT, sadly to say, these 2 years, the week before Mother's day, she's home due to 1) last year HFMD; and 2) this year, her flu & cough & the recent swine flu outbreak!

This year, seems like we had quite a bit of a celebration... Why did I say that?

1) We joined the Chong Pang CC Mother's Day celebration with my in-laws extended family, with a total of about 3 tables, if am not wrong, so total to about 30 pax! Ehm, the dinner was held at Pin Si Restaurant @ Yishun. So far, we had been there for Ashley's 3rd birthday celebration, my impression was, their food is nice and kinda unique. But for this time, the food just taste normal... as in the food is just like normal wedding dinner type... I guess it's due to 'mass production', there were about 60 tables that evening. And due to the recent swine flu outbreak, everyone had to have their temperature taken before we are seated. Oh ya, forgot to mention, the dinner was on 02 May (Sat).

2) First time after I got married, we celebrated Mother's day with my mum on the actual day, i.e. 10 May (Sun). We went to Long Beach @ IMM for lunch, it was very nice!! cos we went for the 10-course set lunch... the crabs were nice & BIG. However, was quite disappointed, cos the dishes were not out in sequence, due to the 'festive season'.

3) After our lunch, we went to downtown east for another BBQ Mother's day celebration with my in-laws.

And realised downtown east had a make-over & WL was impressed that he signed us up for the De-card & we get 3D/2N free stay @ the chalet, so now planning for a stay during the June holidays!! & first time we brought the kids to Xplorer Kids, they enjoyed SO much & WE (myself & WL) had a tough time chasing after them... hahaha... guess, age is really catching up for us!

Adwin first time in such ball pool... he's abit lost when seated inside... hahaha... But Ashley had a real fun time in these ball pools...

Adwin on his favorite... CARS.. :D

Sad to say, Ashley only had these 'blurry' photos taken as she's actively running around!! She loves this Mega Play... Lucky we dun have to drag 2 crying kids out! whew... And I really find these slides so scary!!.. But Ashley says it's really FUN & only abit scary! hahaha...

Weight of the kids...

Had been trying to keep record of their weight.... this was taken when I brought them to see doc on their cough & flu...
Adwin : 11.6kg (as of 09 May 09) 17mths old
Ashley: 16.1kg (as of 04 May 09) 3years 10mths old

Hair cut for both

I finally picked up the courage to bring both kids for a hair cut!! hahaha... cos I find it's such a challenge to bring them into the salon & have them sit quietly for a proper hair cut...

Seriously, Ashley never had a proper hair cut before in a salon, considering she's 4 this year!! Amazing?? Cos all along, her fridge is cut by her maternal grandma & her long curly hair cut by her paternal grandma! hahaha... Friends did asked, if she looks ok since it's cut by different people... Amazingly again, she does looks ok! hahaha...

This time, Adwin was such a great boy, he sat quietly on my lap & allow the lady to cut his hair & it turn out SO nice!! Ashley as usual, can't be seated on her own for a cut, she follows her bro, sat on my lap... and of cos, at the end of the 2 sessions, my pants are full of their cutted hair... am fine with all these, so long their hair get cut! :D

I'll try to get a proper shot of their new hair cut! hahaha... :p
