Our tea

We went to botanical gardens today for lunch, was quite disappointed with the food court, cos I find the price is quite ex and doesn't taste very good!

Anyway, WL thought to bring the kids for some outdoor activity but the weather was not very good today, was drizzling when we left the house. Lucky the rain stopped after we finish our lunch and we managed to take a walk round the swan lake!! It was pretty interesting to plants we do not see outside, or is it just me?? Haha...

Anyway, the kids have fun knowing how water lily, arrowheads and cat tail looks like!! And also we some beautiful swans and dragonflies!!

After the walk, we head to holland V, been a long long time since we were here! Did some shopping and head to the Taman Warna road for our tea!! Cos our 2 rascals are having their nap and we know this shop serves very nice orange cheese cake!! Bunalun!!! And here we tried their Raspberry brownie, coffee latte and hibiscus tea!! Nice!!

My Ashley

Ehm, I dunno how I should start this entry tonight. Cos am feeling bad about ashley's crying. I did not scold her or raise my voice at her, but I was lecturing her and telling her what she had done wrong. This is the first time she was crying so badly from my words!

She started weeping initially but when I ask get why, the worse she cried! Even after I wiped clean her face, the moment she sees me, she cry again! As though she was being wronged!! Signed...

Ok, the things that started my lecturing:
1. She would destroy and throw away a piece of the A4 construction paper when she found a word had been spelt wrongly or some picture she drew were not correct! Even though I had told her umpteen times that the other side of the paper can still be used or she can crossed out the wrong word, she would crashed the paper!! This is really wasteful thinking of the amount of trees used to produce the paper!!

2. She would refused to tie up her hair the moment she leave the childcare!! And her hair is making her sweaty and hot and super messy!!! And she always refused to let me tie her hair too, always insisting to tie them herself!! So just now I had also told her that I would bring her to the hairdresser tomorrow after her lunch!

3. And she forgot to wash her hands before eating the banana!! I guess this was the triggering point! As she started crying while washing her hands!

4. She had recently started to whine pretty badly!! Whenever she encounter things not done her way, she would start to whine! And this really pisses me quite badly!

Anyway, while I ask her to stop crying I also assure her that, mummy still loves her every much!! And when I hug her, she started to cry badly again and my tears were also in my eyes!! I really did not realized I had hurt her so badly.... :(

My little adwin loved meat more than anything. We are Ikea for dinner now and WL had ordered some chicken wings. He did not have nuggets and chips or the pasta, he only choose to eat 3 drumlets for dinner!!

Father n son having hair cut

Haha... First time, WL and Adwin going for a hair cut together!!! Adwin keep trying to peep at his daddy during the cut! And he keep saying he does not want a hair cut!!

Renovating our new place

We are in the mist of renovation our place so we can shift in by mid of Sept... And I guess I had underestimate the size of the project! Haha... Cos firstly, the budget is way over what I had intended for, overlooking that many things need to be changed since this is an old flat!! But am glad we had chosen some nice tiles for the flat. Am sure this house will look different from the one we are currently staying in!!

I was really shocked with the amount of cockroaches that had stayed there before. When the workers dismantle the kitchen cabinets, the roaches were all dashing towards the front door for escape!! OMG... and the smell was really unbearable, with all the oil stains that had accumulated for years there!! And with this, am 200% glad I did hack off everything there!! In fact, WL was quite upset that we were paying so much COV and still need to hack off everything in the house!! But like what our agent told us, corner units are being snatched very quickly in the market rather than being SOLD!! So, I guess with all these, our new place is still a worthwhile purchase! :p

Orchard Central....

Orchard Central is still not my preferred shopping mall after so many visits...  Cos of the funny layout and the shops do not interest me.  And seems like they are having flea market on weekends too!!  I guess they are also trying to attract more young people to the mall.  And this time round, we managed to find our way to the rooftop to have a look!!  No pictures taken, cos our iphone does not have flash so it turn out all black!  And WL feel the layout is quite bad, cos the exhaust pipe from the restaurants are blowing in a direction which would makes you smell stinky after awhile there!! haha...

Ashley's first colouring competition

Ashley participated in her first colouring contest last Sunday, this was jointly organised by Chong Pang CC & Great Eastern Insurance, promoting Kindness & Filial Piety.  I had signed her up for the purpose of exposing her to such an event, as I know her artwork is still not yet to win a prize yet! Haha... :p

Anyway, WL joined us after his volunteer work @ CF is done and the picture below shows how the Father & Son is enjoying the leftovers milo!!  WL is trying hard to scrap the milo from the cup & Adwin is waiting eagerly for it!!!  Haha...

All of us are down with fever

4 of us are down with fever this morning!! This is really so unexpected!! My 2 children were making lots of noise around 5-6am till I got up at 630am and measured their temperature. Adwin was 38.8, Ashley 38.4 and me 37.1. So i got up and fed all with paracetamol and keep changing water and adding ice pack on their forehead. But their temperature was still at 38+ till 730am. I was really sleepy and tired and when WL got up before 8am, his temperature was 38.8!! So after taking his med, all went to bed again till after 9+am!!

Kids and sushi

I remember haven't blog about how much the kids love sushi!! But they only takes 1 type, the tamago sushi, the yellow egg on top type. Only last Saturday, Ashley started eating the kani sushi, with a tiny piece of crab stick in the center!

First try on pizza

Haha... Must thank my net friend, tulip7v for telling me how to make a pizza at home!!

I got the my ingredients from Cold Storage at United Sq on Friday, here's what was bought: frozen pizza base, tomato paste, shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced pineapple, bacon and a pack of fresh salad!!

Ashley says the pizza is nice from pastamania so I thought to let her try making her pizza would makes her wanna eat more!! Hee Hee....

The first one was a simple pizza with bacon and fresh salad on top, the 2nd one was made by Ashley, the Hawaiian!!

WL says this is nicer cos the pineapple actually made the pizza quite sweet and the leftover hams us just enough for this!! Will sure to make these pizza more often! ;)

Adwin able to make himself sleep

Not many people know am still Breastfeeding my 2 years & 7 months old adwin! In fact he was a fully breastfed baby till 18 months!! After that, I had asked my mum to give him some powder formula milk during day time. However, it took me some time to train him to only latch on during night time, day time will be fully formula milk! And today is my 3rd successful day that he goes to sleep without latching on me!!! Hooray... Really hope he will end his breastfeeding days soon!! As we plan to train him and Ashley to sleep in their own room after we move to our new home in sept!! :)

Actually I do misses the time when am feeding him and I must say this really bonded us very well!!...

Feeding Adwin

Adwin had been requesting to be fed by Ashley! And Ashley is enjoying as much as him being fed! As Ashley feels she is a big sister now that she can feed her baby cousin Caden as well as her brother Adwin!

Yes, Ashley asked me an interesting question 2 weeks back, "mummy can you give me a baby?" haha... My answer to her? Of course is a No... Haha.. As my 2 kids are bigger now and going out with them is abit easier compared to a year ago... Unless I miss the smell of a baby again! Haha...

Ashley's 5th birthday party

We celebrated Ashley's 5th birthday earlier this year, as we had invited her classmates an their family over, so need a Sunday so everyone can make it!! And I am really happy that everyone enjoyed and the kids had lots of fun!!

Glad that I managed to bring in the DIY foam crown for the kids!! Cos we see all the kids enjoying doing them and wearing them during games!! And I must say, lucky we thought of some games for the kids to play and bought some prizes for everyone!

I had ordered the cake from ecreative, but asked them not to put their decors on the cake, so I can put the Princess cake topper which I had ordered, to complete my Princess Birthday theme! hee hee... the Barbie jelly cake was ordered by my sis for Ashley, but when my dad saw it, he 'hijacked' & paid for it! haha... but Ashley was happy with it cos jelly is her favourite dessert!!

Must really thank all the parents who brought Ashley's classmate over for the celebration. And Ashley likes all the presents received! But had told Ashley not to open them till our shift to the new place! :D

Adwin is toilet train

This credit must go to adwin's teacher, teacher Eliz and treacher Ivy! They were so brave to toilet train adwin in the childcare and they did it without informing me to bring extra pants!! Haha... And actually all these took about 1 week time only!! And now adwin is able to tell me he need the toilet for pee and poo!! So they really will save us lots of $ on diapers!! We will only put on diaper for him during his nap and night time! Hooray...

Ashley not taking ballet

Ashley had initially asked me to bring her for ballet lesson. So I took some effort to find ballet classes for her and also found some dance studio but in the end decided to let her join a class held at a CC near us. Last wed was her first lesson and we thought it was more of a play thing for her cos it was a lesson for the teacher to assess if she's should join the Tod or Pre-primary class. And the teacher say she's flexible enough to join the older class. But last evening, she told me she dun wanna go for ballet anymore!! Even after me telling her that if she does not go last evening, there will be no more ballet for her! I hope she will find the interest later again....

Ashley birthday update 1

Today is the last day the parents of the invited kids RSVP me on their attendance. Out of the 20 children we invited, 7 are confirmed coming and 1 can't make it cos they are on holidays, but am glad some of Ashley mentioned friends are coming! But WL say the number is just nice!! And now am abit stressed as I need to plan for some games and activities for the children attending the party!!

I had been doing some research online today regarding games for children party. Had discussed with WL and I intend to play the Pass the package game, thought of also playing Stepping stone and Bingo. Pray that the DIY crowns be in time for the party! We also went to get some prizes!!

I really didn't expect all these when we agreed to invite the kids over for ashley's birthday party, till a mummy called me today and asked what are the programs you planned for the party!! Am shocked when I heard that and started some planning only till then!! Haha... Hope everything will turn out fun on the day!! :p

Planning for Ashley's birthday

Ashley will be turning 5 this year!! It's really fast!! Every year am saying the same thing, cos really feel like she was still my baby in my arms!!

This year, we intend to have a party at home, had just asked her to pass all the invitation cards to her childcare friends hoping they can come over. She was really happy to hear her friends will be invited just hope her best friends will attend!

We do not plan to invite our friends this year, as she have friends in the childcare and since it's her birthday, those attending should be HER friend rather then her parents friend! Haha...

I must say am happy with their weight cos I didn't expect their weight to go up when they are quite picky with their food and especially for Ashley who is taking plain rice most of the time!!

Woodlands Waterfront

This is a new place open up in the North... Actually if I say it's just behind Republic Poly, I guess everyone would like the location, but if I say end of Admiralty Road, not everyone knows....

Anyway, the place is really PACKED with adults & kids!! There's no parking lots available & cars are seen parking along the roads way before you arrived at the designated car park!! And mind you, there's still a Phase 2 coming up!! Hope they can allocate more parking lots!!

We were also surprised to see many people there fishing even when the sun had set!!  But like I told WL, how come I dun see their tubs of fish!! hahaha... if you get what am trying to say!!

Anyway, the kids did enjoyed themselves with the slide & those modern 'see-saw'... haha... I dunno what to call them and of cos, the kids favourites, ICE CREAM!! There's quite a number of ice-cream motorists there too!! & given the weather, everyone is getting an ice cream themselves!!  hee hee....

This is a Mega Play thing for teenagers I would say, cos they are not suitable for my 2 toddlers!!  It looks quite fun, but I guess it's over crowded!!
