** Super sorry for this super overdue post... cos I still see this in my DRAFT now!! So just tidy it up and post it!! And the Closure of Orchard Road had loooong been over since it's just a 6 months event starting from Oct 2014 to Mar 2015!!! :D **
The Orchard Road of Singapore will be closed on the first Saturday of the month starting from October for 6 mths, I think, this is to promote some sports during their closure. But the closing time will only starts at about 6pm to 11pm.
Since we were free for the first Saturday night, we decided to go to Orchard Rd for our dinner, right after the kids swimming lesson. And see my 3-8 son, hanging on the bag of his cars on his neck, simply refused to remove it!!!
We had our dinner at the food court of 313 Somerset and walked all the way over to the Taka area for the event. This first sport being introduced was Tennis, there were many stalls along the way for the people to take part in and thus helping to promote the interest for tennis. The organisers were pretty thoughtful to have put up some ikea chairs in the middle of the Orchard Rd so we can take a short break and enjoy being sitted in the middle of the road for such a rare occasion! Lol...
