Adwin loving lion dance

The older Adwin gets, the more things he's enjoying doing, as a boy! Recently, there was a movie "ah boys to men", featuring how boys in Singapore get enlisted into the army, serving NS (national service) once they turn 18 years old. How life is being in the Tekong camp, how to stay in the platoon mates, etc. Adwin totally enjoys it and was telling us he wants to be a platoon sergeant or the policeman. We just hope his passion being a soldier will continue to be with him till the day he gets enlisted!

Ok, back to my topic! Adwin was so enthusiastic to being a part of the lion dance that he requested from his Chinese teacher, 杨老师, to let him be the lead of the lion head in the childcare this lunar new year! And cos of his request, his teacher brought out another lion for him to lead! And he was so happy about it and had been telling me about him going to perform in school and will tell us when we can go and see his lion dance performance! But, this was only within the childcare, parents were not invited, so we didn't get a chance to see him perform! But his teacher was nice enought to whatsapp me the class photo!!

Baby's bad fall

Baby had a bad fall this morning at my mums place! Am feeling so bad when I saw it bleed!! He got the bloody cut due to my carelessness... As I just turned around to the table and grab his water bottle, he fell and knocked onto the small table at the side! Now am praying that he recover fast and does not leave any mark or scar behind... Somemore it's still the CNY period now, the 12th day of CNY...

My "gong xi gong xi" baby!

Whew-wee.... My only baby who can grasp both hands together and do the "gong xi gong xi" sign when he's being prompted and provided he's in the right location with the correct persons!! Haha... As he wouldn't do it in front of any strangers, except for us (his dear parent) and grandparents!!! Isn't that wonderful? Haha... And forgot to mention, he turned exactly 14 months in the first day of CNY! :). Time really files.... My baby is now a toddler! But am still calling him "Baby"!!!!

My baby is finally enjoying his swimming!! Initially he was pretty scared when being carried into the pool! But after his enjoyment in the shower, he realized water play can be pretty fun!! Haha...

River ang bao 2013 - year of the snake

It's our tradition to go to the River Ang Bao yearly after our reunion dinner with WL's family, even when I was carrying my new born!

This year, the decors were nicer compared to last year and I also thought they were quite evenly spaced out this year, so it doesn't feel so cramped and crowded too. But I can't remember it ended so early... This year, it started on the 8th Feb (a day before the eve of CNY) and ended on 16th Feb (7th day of CNY)!

The zodiac signs decors were not very impressive, due to the big vase they had built for all the zodiac signs, thus taking pictures were not very obvious unless you took it in the correct angle. Anyway, my ILs didn't remember my happy baby is also a rabbit till WL carried over baby and asked me to snap a picture for him, my baby and my FIL! 3 generations rabbits in the picture!!

As usual, my kids were only interested in the rides there! And like last year, Groupons is selling discounted vouchers for the tokens! I didn't managed to get them last year, but this time, I bought 3 sets of $30 worth of tokens with a free popcorn or candy floss and a toy or souvenir for only $18 each set! That's a very good deal, as the rides there are not cheap, or rather, the rides that my kids were interested in were not cheap! Haha...

Lunar new year is here!

Haha... By the time this post is up, our lunar new year is already half gone! Haha... Ok, as usual, I had been delaying my post again... Well, am just a super busy mummy!! :p

Even though I am super busy, I still try to squeeze a little time out to bake for CNY! As I told my dear hubby, his hobby is reading and my hobby is baking and cooking, so, I can still bake at 1am when everyone is asleep! Crazy? Well... That's the only ME time I can get now, with no one asking me how to spell a word, or ask me if I still love him!? Haha... Maybe my neighbors had been cursing and swearing at me when they go to the loo at the wee hours smelling my butter cookies!! LOL...

Anyway, this year, I managed to fry the arrow roots, bake pineapple tarts, butter cookies and honey cornflakes with almond slices! Managed to get my 2 A's help on the cornflakes and they super enjoy helping out, at the same time, eating them! Forgot to take some pictures of them... Sigh...

Snow city

WL bought some vouchers from groupons for us to try out at the snow city! And finally squeeze out some time to bring the kids there to enjoy the super cold 'weather'!!

The thick winter jackets and gloves are included in the entry ticket. But if you are clean freak, maybe you should bring your personal ones along!! As these are not washed after every use, and they do smell abit!! Haha...

We were surprised that the place is really small, only a small exhibition area with some ice carving sculptures, follow by the big slide. And we were not allow to bring our cameras inside, they have many photographers to take pictures for us and hand us the photo chit to view and choose to print the photos at the front counter.

Adwin refused to try on the big slide, whereas Ashley kept on asking us to accompany her and its pretty scary as we can't control the direction it's heading to and no way to stop or slow it down along the way... Haha... Would I go again? No! Haha...

My dad is 60!!

Time really files... And my dad is 60 this year!! (That's counting his lunar age!) I had thought of giving him a grand celebration when he turns 60, but with all the young babies coming along, I kind of forgot about it and we only went for a dinner at peach garden before his actual lunar birthday. I hope I can fulfill my plan next year for his 60 birthday celebration!

My organ...

It took me a long while to finally decide to dispose my organ which had been with me for more than 20 years?! I had attended organ lessons from about 5 or 6 years old till 17 years old... And my dad was pretty sad when he heard that I decided not to be an organ teacher as a living... Well, I do love music, but I don't think I can make it my career! It's a lot of money involved for my 10 years of music lessons, but really sorry dad, for disappointing you. And now, the decision to discard it off, as its taking up a space in my small 4 room flat and also, none of my children like to learn how to play an organ too!! Sad... :(

My lazy baby...

My Alvan is very lazy baby... Why??

1. Though he's turning 14 months old on 1st day of CNY, he still refuse to wave bye bye, refuse to shake head for a no and nod his head for a yes!! All he had done so far is, say 'mum mum' when he wanna eat!!! Faint!!

2. Refuse to lift his legs when he's being told to change pants!

3. Will not sit and listen when we try to teach him his face features, eg mouth, nose, ears and eyes!

4. This is the latest stint from him... Bite on the straw of his drinking bottle so he can save the trouble of holding it with his hands!!!

Baby 2nd hair cut!

It's been months since baby's last hair cut when he's only 4 months old. And since CNY is coming, might as well bring baby for a trim!!

Baby Alvan loves to shower

My happy baby just loves to shower!!! Everyday, when I tell him it's time to go for a shower, he will happily come and hold onto my hand and started waiting into my room and head straight to the toilet!! Many times when I would stop at the drawers for his new set of clothings, he would continue to walk till the toilet door and starting to shout for me to go over!!

Maid maid maid...

I thought one of my new year resolution is to blog more for 2013!!! And turn out?? Worst then 2012 for a start?? Haha... One of my excuse now is, we are only into the 3rd week of January 2013 and I had sent my 2nd maid back to the agent!!! Tell me am I such a terrible employer? No, definitely no!! The 2 maids left due to their health problem!!! And am deciding is stop for now, am really tired on training maids and when they are almost ok in all tasks and chores, they wanna go back home! This is torturing me!!! So, I'll try to handle my household chores, kids and work by myself slowly... :) Though tiring but am happier!!

Baby seat inside ladies' toilet

I finally get to use this type of baby seat inside the cubicle of the ladies's toilet!!!

The first time I saw this, was when we were in Hokkaido for holiday in June 2008. Ashley was not with us, so I only get to envy mummies at that time! And this was not available in Singapore at all at that time and I was wishing for it to be here soon!

And when it's available in Singapore, my Ashley and Adwin had outgrown it, so no chance for me again! Till last evening when we decided to pop by the revamped Chinatown Point! As I was left alone with my 3 kids to the toilet and here's my chance!!! Haha... Was super happy to belt up my baby Alvan onto the seat while I do my small business!!! :p

But he was really not happy in it, and kept reaching out for me while I was busy and the belt was not really very secure though.. But I guess it's good enough for mummies to settle any big or small business when we need it urgently with a baby in tow... ;)

The Observatory @ the Science Center

WL found out about the observatory which opens up on every Friday from 7:30pm to 10pm! And as usual, he planned for a trip here and try to make it sound fun!!! :p

Anyway, during my younger times, I did had an interest in Stargazing but not after I got married and started a family... WL started getting really interested these few weeks due to a free course he had signed up for!!

But the kids definitely had fun!!!

First time baby putting shoes and hoping to get him used to it before he can walk!! He was feeling abit awkward initially and tried to walk a few steps in it...

WL fed bb Alvan with red plum 2 weeks back and surprisingly he enjoyed it very much!!! But WL had a tough time feeding him cos he kept trying to use his 2 upper and 2 lower teeth to 'scrap' the plum... (Didn't realized I had taken some pictures of him 'scrapping' the plums!)

So, his clever mummy cut the plums into smaller pieces and stuffed into the self feeding thingy for him to enjoy! See he's enjoying so much of the fruit!! And I had to refilled 3 times for him!! The moment I took the feeder away, he would scream and cry as though I had snatched his food away!!!

Adwin's and Alvan's birthday party! (Part 2)

Only got time to finish my part 2 of my boys' birthday party post now... Haha... And I really forgot what I need to say... Just try to recall and post based on the photos here...

Baby enjoyed standing in the kiddy rides! He was so happy when I put him into it! There wer a few rides near the entrance for kids to have fun with if they do not like the the slides... But they were not free!! Haha... Smart way of earning more monies from parents!

We ordered their in-house caterer, Jin Zhen Chinese restaurant at level 3, and the food were good, but sad to say the serving was not really big, and we had to ordered more fried rice towards the end when my SIL's family and her in-laws arrived.

WL decided to engage a magician for the boys, and I was looking forward to the balloon scrulturing. The boys were not really engaged to the magician, towards the middle, all the audience went into the play area and m BIL had to get the kids out!! Even the balloon scrulturing was not really fully utilized! But one of his friend, jaxton, asked for an octopus and it was my first time seeing one, so interesting!!

We only had a chance to take some family photos, I feel the magician had rushed through the cake cutting session, and no chance for us to get all the kids and extended family for some photos before blowing off the candles and cutting the cakes! And I had baked a smashed cake my baby, but he was really terrified when he's near the candle!! And I had also forgotten to let him put on the '1st birthday' hat till he had finished the cake! Haha...

These were all Adwin's birthday presents received on the party! And he was really happy to have received so many of them and whenever he opened up a present, he would take some time to play with them before opening up the next present!

This Mickey Mouse tricycle is baby's birthday present from his uncle (姨丈)! He was only interested in the wheels, handles and seat, not much interest in sitting into it being pushed by us! Haha....

This is singing elmo from uncle (舅舅) and he was initially amazed as to why was Elmo singing to him! But after awhile its no longer interesting and he started snatching Elmo's mic! Haha... Dunno if he thought Elmo would not sing he don't have the mic!? Haha...

This is WL present for birthday baby, he had named it, Polly thr Polar Bear!! And whenever he asked baby where is Polly? Baby would turn around and look for him! Haha...

Art science museum - The Art of Brick

During our 3rd time stay at the MBS, the exhibition 'The Art of Brick' had just started at the Art Science Museum, opposite MBS hotel. And this is one of the 'Must visit exhibition' going on, so WL thought the kids would enjoy since its Lego bricks to them!!

It's a really interesting exhibition, considering the 'builder' uses millions and millions of those small bricks to build his art pieces!!! It's really not easy and requires lots of patience and time to finish a piece!!

In fact, they did provide a small booth that allows the visitors to build 'water drops', allowing us to experience the difficulty in putting those small bricks into an art piece we see there!!! And really, it's not easy!!!!

They had also incorporated 2 booths which allows visitors to take photos and covert into images which looks like it was assembled using bricks!! And the kids had fun!!!

This is like a preview to our next outing, legoland in Malaysia! Cos at the end of the exhibition, they have a few tables which allows visitors, rather children, to sit down and have fun with Lego bricks!!! And of cos, my 2 kids were busy having fun!! Haha...
