Visit to the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, Wan Qing Yuan

As the dumpling festival is just around the corner and in conjunction with the Singapore Museum Children's festival, Wan Qing Yuan had organised a dumpling festival for all to appreciate and understand why we are eating dumplings for this festival. And a good chance for all to visit this hall since WL had been wanting to come here since its opening about a year back.
A few game stalls were set up for kids to have fun with and chops to collect to exchange for a goody gift. The interesting part was all game stalls were set up by volunteers from ITE college and all were hand made!!! And they try to make a link back to the dumpling festival for the kids to enjoy and understand how the festival came about.
This stall was showing the kids what ingredients went into the making of a dumpling.
They even had an event for kids to learn how to make a dumpling bag, in the shape of a dumpling and all proceeds collected from the sales of the raw materials would go to a charity organisation.
This is Mr. Sun Yat Sen statue with some writings on what he had done in Singapore.
My happy Alvan taking out and putting on his shoes on this green green pasture!!

They had a treasure hunt game for the kids and their tasks were to go around the museum looking for clues and filling it up and receive a a small notebook and and pen. They were and so very thoughtful to have set up some craft sessions at the balcony of the 2nd level. But we were actually arrived very late on that day and the place were ready to be closed by the time the kids collected their notebook and pen.

It was starting to drizzle when we were about to leave the place... The small Blue notebooks in my Ashley's and adwin's hand were the goody!

While keying this post, I was trying hard to recall what this game my Ashley and Adwin had tried on was known as. So I went thru my search on my FB trying to locate the poster I saw for this event and finally found it and went thru my video just to capture some pictures out so I can put in my blog! Hahaha..

This is known as the bungee run!!! First time trying out for my 2 kids and they had an awesome time!!!

This was added much later..  as I forgot about taking photos on our diner!  Lol..

We were not very hungry so decided to settle our dinner at this small mall opposite the museum.  Pizza and pasta!!  The food was not fantastic, price also not super cheap, but a quick dinner.

Our exaggerated daddy with the super thin and small pizza!

And my Alvan here, holding up his plate of fries so we can take a pic of him!!! So cute and smart of him! Lol...

LTA carnival 2014

This is our first time attending one of the program for the Children's seasons 2014 organised mainly by the different museums of Singapore.  And this is beginning of the program, I hope we can expose the kids more of such free programs and let them learn and experience the many sides of Singapore. And am really glad they do give free entrance to the citizens here as I believe many Singaporeans have yet to visit all the museums in Singapore.

Here's the link to this Children's seasons for this year:

I kind of missed quite a lot of the programs last year, can't remember why... haha...

My Alvan was so excited to see the projection on drawings of the MRT and iPhone!

I had thought a visit to the LTA gallery would be fun as this is the organisation which controls all moving vehicles in Singapore,  but I was wrong... hahaha... was kind of disappointed as there's not much vehicles around, except for a small cubicle of the MRT on display.  But there was an activity for the kids to participate in which required them to ride on a bicycle.  And I was sooo excited to see my Ashley cycling on her own after a good 30mins help fr her daddy!  But my Adwin would need to put in more effort in this area!

Luckily my kids had an awesome time doing their first air brush tattoo on their hands and face painting for Ashley!  They also had a good time eating the candy floss, popcorn and some nuts!!  Overall the kids did enjoy themselves and thought the carnival was still available the next day! Sadly, the carnival was only for a Saturday and registration is required! Till next year, we shall be early!!! Lol...

There was another section for toddlers, and my Alvan enjoyed some kiddy car rides here!  For one thing that's good, all these rides were free, we just need to exchange the parent's ID for a pass, but the volunteers don't seem to check on the passes though...

But my kids were really disappointed when they saw their goody bag!! I mean the kids were putting in lots of effort running around the place getting the hints and filling in the answers on the sheet but all they got as goody bag were just a small sticker and info about LTA,  come on, how would the kids appreciate what LTA is going to build or have in plan for the future Singapore?  All the kids want now is toys and maybe sweets or stationary!

This is the small MRT cubicle which was on display and for the kids to find some clues on so they can finish their stamps on the card to collect their goody bag!

Some designs on display here for the commuters to nominate for the reserve seats.
