Our evening outing to Robertson Quay

This is a place we hardly visit.... And why we are here this evening is due to the groupon voucher WL got for our dinner... Shabu Shabu!! First time for all of us!! We hardly had steamboat on our own, as it's tough cooking and eating at the same time with so many kids in tow and especially difficult to cook and feed them at the same time as they do not have the patience to wait for their food to be serve and in super hot state!

But before our dinner, WL decided to let the kids enjoy the water taxi, which costs $3/pax, including babies!! So he paid a total of $15 for us to get onto the water taxi... We boarded from Robertson Quay all the way to the end of the ride, Promenade ie the Singapore Flyer!

Selfie of me n hb!!

Us with the Alkaff Bridge as background!! Haha...

Kids and WL on the bridge...

Strolling along the Singapore River before our water taxi arrives...

*think am sleeping in this shot* lol...

Our water taxi is here!!

Boarding...

Sights along the way... All were taken by Adwin!!

The Merlion...

MBS (Marina Bay Sands)...

The Singapore Flyer...

Working in progress River Ang Bao 2014... God of fortune is here!! Lol...

Little pony at the Singapore Flyer...

Us on the taxi back to the Robertson Quay... It's cheaper to ride in a taxi compared to the water river! Kids do enjoy riding on a taxi, as they had been very fortunate to ferry in daddy's private car since birth till now... So once awhile public transport day is a highlight to them!!

Anyway, WL is good to have prepared the kids of what to expect for dinner and they know that the meat need to be 'swipe' in hot soup before they can eat!!

The spread is for 4 adults and we were really lucky to be able to finish all of them with 2 adults and 3 kids!! Lol... The udon were snatched by the kids, lucky thing is, they are noodles lover, so long it's not rice, they are ok!! Lol...

There's actually 2 trays of Pork here, a big plate of veg and a heapful plate of udon!!  Their sauces were yummy, especially the sesame dipping sauce, as for the soy sauce alike dipping sauce, it's nice with the spicy oil added!!

The kids enjoy cooking the pork... And now am thinking to reinvent this at home... Lol... :p

My Adwin...

I can feel my Adwin trying hard to adapt in the new school and new friends... He told us that his teacher had asked him to help out with the attendance list in the morning etc... And he also mentioned about the monitor for certain subjects. Am sorry to say, I wasn't sure of what he was trying to tell me, but I did ask if he us appointed as the monitor in class, but he just said no, so I ended the chat here...

Today, as Ashley will be having English tuition from 5:15 to 6:45pm, he requested to pick him up at 5, so I agreed and went over with Alvan... The first thing he did when he sees us was to show me his Monitor badge! He was really proud of it and asked me if he's a smart boy?!!  Lol... He even told me that his friend say its not fair that Adwin can be a monitor but not him!!

Anyway, me and WL did thought that he would be a monitor even before he starts school! So the next phase for him is being chosen to be a prefect?! Lol...

Maybe we should be proud of him and let him learn to be a leader in school and do things independently!

Adwin's volcano experiment

I managed to buy the volcano and earthquake science experiment online for Adwin! He had been wanting to get one after he saw Hi-5 doing a volcano experiment.  So, this one was his birthday present! Lol...

The 2 kids are all ready for the mini experiment...

Before they can start, the kids actually need to paint the volcano into the dirty mud color, as the cone came in clear transparent plastic...

Getting ready for the volcano... Reading and getting the ingredients ready...

Mix up the solutions and the color water for the eruption!

Goggles for the kid... It looks as though its going to be a big eruption! Lol...

Taking turns to turn on the switch for the eruption!!!

A mini mini eruption... This was the 2nd eruption for the kids... With added detergent, the eruption looks better with the bubble foam flowing out...

Our 2nd visit to 美人锅 (Tsukada Nojo)

The kids were asking to eat at this restaurant when we reached Chinatown point... But the tables were all taken by the time we were there. So WL left his contact no and asked to call us when a table is available!  But, WL's ringtone was tooooo soft that he missed their call!!! So, we had a super late dinner that nite!!!  Anyway, the kids are learning to enjoy their yummy soup base!! And Alvan too is enjoying their noddles!!

We tried their desserts time... And it was yummy too!! See my Ashley's thumb up!

Alvan enjoy the egg custard with WL!!! His signature 2 thumbs up!!! Lol...

And am trying hard to recall if we had this in 2013 or 2014!!! Hahahaha... :p

** finally got the name of the restaurant while browsing thru my credit card statement online!!! Hahahaha... **

New year 2014

Happy new year!!! A late greetings from me... Cos am super busy for the new year... My Adwin attending P1 in a new school... Many things to be completed at work... Busy preparing for the coming lunar new year... So many minor things to be done!!

Do I need a resolution for the new year?? Well, I think I never got my resolution realized before... So forget it!! Just spend my everyday meaningfully and enjoy all my moments!!! Anyway, life is short so enjoy it!!! Hahahaha... Me and my excuse huh??? That's just ME!!! :p

Ok, first thing, my baby Adwin had been crying for his 2 days in the new school... And my heart was aching to see him cry helplessly in school and I can't go in to give him a hug!! So sad... But I had been telling myself, my boy needs to grow up!!! How would he handle when the day comes for him to be enlisted??!! I really don't know...

And for the first week without buddy, I had told him if he can make it without crying, I would buy him something... But I guess he forgot and WL actually bought him a box of the small mini Lego super hero pack on his first day not crying... So that's his reward!! But I tried to make it a point to pick him up early from the student care, especially on days that Ashley is late!!

Here's some photos we took during the first 2 days where parents are allowed in during their recess break with a buddy...

Taking breakfast at home before going to school...

My baby Alvan asking for his backpack after seeing his jiejie and korkor getting ready for school!!!

Day 1: still looking happy and let us take a shot of him with his buddy...

And just about 5 mins before his recess end, he came crying!! Asking me to bring him home and its not fun at all in school!!! Faint!! I had to bring him in to his teacher and dash out as he was crying terribly!

And he even cried after school!! As he was not able to find the student care personnels at the gate!! WL went over to him and another crying saga begins cos he refused to follow them to the student care center!! WL had no choice but to bring him over, watched him shower, take his lunch and leave him there...

See the chaotic gate 2 when school is over??!!

My Adwin refusing to sit with his jiejie... And as usual, my happy Ashley...

A shot taken by my friend... After we left... A happy and chirpy Ashley... Lol...

As for day 2, the number of parents who went in during recess had greatly reduced to about half!! So the challenge to look for my son would be lessen but a bigger challenge for me, cos I need to hide myself away from him!!! Lol...

And it was really easy to spot him from the location I stood! And he was crying terribly!!! But this time, his form teacher, Ms Malani was with him!! She called me, saying Adwin did not buy any food and he just kept crying!!! And she was kind enough to let him talk to me!! All I can hear is, mummy you come at 10am to fetch me, I don't want to stay in school, I want to go popo's house!!! OMG... I really don't know what to say... When his teacher took over, she asked me what would he like for recess so she can buy for him just in case he's hungry later.  Am glad his teacher is really taking good care of him!  And I was there all along but can show my face else he would expect me to be there everyday...

Anyway, my Adwin just stick to his teacher throughout his recess. And he happened to meet a senior who is in the same student care as Adwin, and he was really nice to keep counseling my crying Adwin!!

Adwin being asked to wash his face before going up to the hall...

However, his friend, Kaeden Lee, was a braver boy compared to him... Lol... He was being spotted thinking of what to buy for lunch!!!  And my Adwin been complaining to me that he cried as he was not able to find his good friend!!

So, being a kiasu mummy, I contacted Kaeden's mummy on Sunday, asking her to ask Kaeden to wait for my timid son on Monday for recess!!! And my son was still worried even after such arrangement from his mummy!!! He told me, Kaeden sure forget to wait for him and what can he do if Kaeden really forgets??!! OMG... Faint!!!

Anyway, this is the 3rd week of school... And he's starting to do fine... Being able to buy bread for recess and not bring food to school!!! And he's also starting to like school!!! Keep it up son!!! :)
