Our March break

The kids and WL is having a short break this March and we did not really have a plan on where and when to bring the kids out to enjoy their short break... but, on the start of the week, Monday, my Alvan was diagnosed with HFMD!!! What a thunderous news!!! Hahaha

.... The teacher rejected his entry when she spotted quite a big patch of red spots in his mouth and I had to bring him to see doc to confirm that... so... start of the holiday means end of it, cos being responsible parents, we need to stay home....

The only outing for all of us was on Thursday when we need to bring Ashley to ICA to collect her newly renewed passport! And lucky for all of us, Alvan had recovered!!! So it's a short outing for us....

The day started off with daddy bringing the 2 kids to ICA with MRT! Hahaha... as I need to finish some work before driving down with Alvan to meet them for lunch and other activities. 

Since WL got a craving for pastry, we decided to pop over to 2 bakers for lunch! And here's what we had... pasta!!! Something filling and nice... I do like their matcha latte... nice...

Cakes!!! That's the main purpose of visiting them... as I did not have the chance to bake my carrot cake, time to try theirs... sadly, I would say not nice, as there's no walnuts or raisins in the cake, only carrots! And the cinnamon taste is a tad too overwhelming.... The other yuzu cake was nice! As the internal comes with a small piece of matcha sponge cake!  Nice combination!!!

We happened to see a forklift at the shop next to the restaurant... And being a motor vehicle funatic, Alvan would say yes to all photos taken with any motor vehicles! 

Our next stop was bugis plus to catch the coming movie, superman vs batman, *hope I got it right!!* figurines on display... In the end, my boys didn't quite like taking shots with them.... so left with me and my girl! Lol..

After taking some shots with the displays at bugis, we headed over to Clarke Quay for shot with a real size batmobile!!! How cool is that!!!

And a first time for me to post a photo on Instagram for some contest of the Batman vs superman movie tickets!!! Anyway, am not a fan of Instagram... so better not go in there again.   Lol..

With nothing in mind for the afternoon, we continue with some window shopping at Liang Court... A very cute sushi display outside of the book store on level 3? Or 4? Hahaha..

When we thought the sun was not so strong, time to reveal our plan for the late afternoon... cycling at East coast towards Marina Barrage! Our kids favourite activity!

Our final destination, Marina Barrage!!! It was a long ride but really fun.. and the kids did enjoyed themselves!!!  I was really surprised that we can be passing by Gardens by the Bay before Marina barrage and a very nice view of the singapore skyline here... worth the effort and time cycling!

Our 1st bus trip to Tampines

Our kids always like to try taking public transport around our small island... given the luxury of the car is just a 'natural thing' to them... so we always try to expose them to the convenience of our public transport, since they would need to take them once they grow into a teenager, going out with friends and not requiring our companion or 'escorting'! Hahaa...

So, we decided to bring the kids to enjoy a ride to the eastern side of the island, since it's just a single bus ride and the bus service has got a double decker bus service! So killed 2 birds with a stone! 

There were a few of such photo booth or rather display of the movie, Zootopia, which we caught last week, around the Tampines bus interchange! So my kids took the opportunity to have some shots! Sorry, my Alvan was taking his nap at the time of arrival! Lol...

After a short 10 mins of exploring Tampines One mall, we decided to go in to this Monster Curry eatery for a try of their Fiery hot curry with rice!!

See the super big plate of the curry rice?!!? It's meant for sharing, according to the lady, this can serve up to 2 to 3 pax!!! Mind you, it's really huge!!! But go all out to try their level 5 hotness.. cos it's not even up to my boy's standard! Hahaha... ya.. maybe cos it's Japanese curry to begin with, it's really not spicy!!!

Would we be back?!?! Not too sure but it's a good try... oh yes, forgot to mention, there's a 0 level where no spicy-ness is spotted in the curry.. so tat solves Alvan's dinner too!!!! ;)

Alvan and his lantern

Remember I last mentioned about Alvan's cc having some cny lantern making competition?? And I was so surprised to see his big present when I went to pick him on the last day of cny....

A really useful set of present for him to develop his art talent... hahaha.. did I mentioned he loves markers?? He managed to finish up this drawing block in 2 days! Hahaha... A boy who loves to draw cars and cars... shall take a shot of his cars drawing one day... hee hee...

My potato plant...

Seems like the older I get, my interest in gardening is increasing... but I never had luck in growing plants let alone bloom flowers... hahaha....

But this time, my potato plant blooms!!! As always, I won't be able to finish cooking my potato before they starts to grow buds in them... And yes, once bud starts to grow in potato, it's not good for eating... And I had seen many FB postings on growing potatoes... so I thought to give it a try... And out of the 2 potatoes I plated, only 1 survive and it managed to bloom!!! Finally.. though the flower is really tiny but I thought it's really pretty... :)

Alvan attending chinese supplement class

My Alvan has come to an age where we should be busy signing him up for extra supplementary lessons, just like his siblings years ago...

His first class is attending chinese class at Tian Sia... And am very glad he managed to go through his trial lesson with no whining and crying!!! Good job boy!!! 

And he even told me he enjoyed the class!!! And he's looking forward to his next lesson! But sadly, we signed him up just before our CNY break so he will be having a break before his 2nd lesson!

CNY 2016 - my work

As usual, I would be super duper busy before CNY... The older I get, the more things I would like to try my hand on.. hahaha...

And this is my hand made lantern for this year... which I super like... am really lucky that the lady selling these handicrafts items... she was really very eager to share the instructions readily...

This lantern design is made for Alvan's cc cny competition... I really ran out of easy design and really wants him to join in the fun of making a lantern for the competition, I did see some super complicated lantern which are obviously made by the parents so the child can win! Well, I would see that he's enjoying the processing of lantern making more than winning... 

Another first try item this year is the mandarin orange candied skin peel... I had wanted to try last year as the amount of oranges we need to disposed off is pretty much... but I have got no time for it last year... so they still went into the trash!

This is the amount of work for the orange candied skin and the orange jam I made for 16 oranges! Took me the whole morning to finish all the work!

This year I managed to create our own lo hei!!! So happy everyone enjoyed it and I enjoyed the process of shredding!!! Hahaha... but next year, I would need to get a small size shredder as the radish and carrots shred were abit too fat! Hahaha... but the can of abalone was really super yummy!!! Huat ah!!!

Our Chinatown outing just before CNY

This is the first time Alvan request to go Chinatown this year!! I was really surprised he wanted to go... as he got a booklet talking about CNY from his childcare and there's a picture of Chinatown on the front cover!! So, to fulfill his request, we decided to go for a walk and absorb the CNY atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon!  So courageous of us to bring children to a super crowded place! Haha...

We parked our car at Chinatown point and walk over to the streets selling cny goods...

Before we reached the streets selling the cny goodies, my Alvan's shoe was torn and WL got to carry him along till we find him a pair of new shoes.. hahaha...

I do not know should I say we were lucky or unlucky on the day...  After about 10mins walk, it started drizzling!!  So we started shopping in one of shop house!  But the rain stopped about 10mins later and we venture out again... haha... this time we managed to have another 15mins walk till it began to rain really heavily again.. and another 30mins walk under the covered walkway and shops... afterwhich the rain Juz come and go drizzling and we were not too bothered with it till we reached the Chinatown food streets which we decided to settle our dinner before another downpour...

My Adwin and his chicken wings and a plate of chicken drumstick rice!  They do taste yummy... And portion is big...

My Alvan and Ashley each had a plate of wanton noodle... Pls do not order if you are there... expensive and not tasty... I ordered a plate hokkien fried noodles, nice but abit too ex too... WL had a bowl of fishbowl noodles... no comments cos no comments from him... hahaha...  

We decided to start our walk back to the car park and head home thinking the crowd is building... along the way, we saw this korean dessert shop and decided to pop in for a try...

Here's our order of their signature Bibim and the kids ordered marshmallow!!  Another expensive desserts.. These 2 bowls for whopping $30!!  Lucky was shared among 5 of us...

We were all enjoying our icy cold desserts!!! There were really nice.... not too sweet and the shaved milk ice was really fine and soft... super yummy... yes I believe we will be back again... happy end to our Sunday outing!!!

Happy new year! We are in 2016!

I have been a bad mummy for not updating my blog regularly since last year!  And some times I would try to remind myself on some entries but in the end it's either been forgotten or procrastinate till forgotten. **Argh... I had actually just finished my entry and suddenly the whole entry just went blank! &@&(#*@&#*# **

Ok, I can't recall what I had just written actually...

Maybe it's about resolutions for the new year... I just said that, my resolutions had been the same for a few years now and seems that mostly are pretty tough to achieve... so come this year.. I shall cut it shorter and maybe try to focus on something simpler and more achievable ones... And live my life to the fullest daily... so no regrets, I hope!!!

Yes, this resolution comes in yearly... to update my blog regularly and take more photos... so I can look back when I need a good laugh or just a good time to look at my 3 lovely kids photos and activities done with them... they are growing up really fast... And soon my 2 elders may not want to go out shopping with me... so must learn to appreciate this moment...

I also hope to see my children grow up learning to be gracious and appreciate all things in life, they are complaining a bit too much now... I don't remember being that way when I was at their age... I remembered being considerate and helping out my mum at their age.. doing lots of things on my own at their age.. but somehow I do not see myself in them now... maybe I had been too kind to them?!?!?! Hahaha.... anyway, there's alot of work involved in current society, it's really tough being parents nowadays...

Another thing I wish to see changes in is a change in my 2 sons room!!! Alvan  managed to sleep in with Adwin since last December and they had been asking for a double decker bed since then... I would hope to see my house turning into a neater and cleaner place.... especially when I think of not having a helper once my current contract is due.. ah hahaha.. Hubby, u reading this??? :p

Ok.. am duper super busy again... as am busy baking for the coming CNY in 2 weeks time!!!  And I guess I need to cut down on my time playing games too... hahahaha...

Alvan's settling in childcare

Alvan started crying daily from July thus year when I sent him off to the childcare.  As there was a change of management and teachers, which I think makes him nervous of going to the childcare... It does pain me when I see that he tries to hold back his tears when we bid goodbye... And many times he knows he will start crying if he look at me longer that he signal me to go off faster before he starts to weep again.

Luckily,  his teachers had always try to assure me that he's fine after I left, though he does weep abit but he recovered pretty fast.

And appreciate the teacher in charge that to send me photo of him adapting well in sept, showing a his mischievous side in the childcare with his friends!!

A copy of his class photo send by the teacher in charge...  he's finally settling well towards this year end, able to apprehend that he must be in school from Mondays to Fridays and he gets 2 days rest for the Weekends! Well done my boy!! ;)
