Lunch @ The GreenHouse -- Bishan Park

WL brought us to the Green House for lunch on Sunday... Cos his collegues had brought him there for a farewell lunch one of the afternoon...   It's an interesting place, cos it's at the entrance to Bishan Park, and it looks quite popular to the caucasians...

We had always try to take more veg in our diet... and Green House is a western vegetarian restaurant...  eh, am I impressed??  Yes to the menu, but was quite disappointed when the food arrives... hahaha... My kids were  not enjoying their lunch, I do not know if it's due to the food (cos Ashley hates all the GREEN food & Adwin was reluctant to have a try....)  But I must say, the chicken rice chilli is really great!! hahaha...

By my judge with the pics below...

Adwin's engineering mind...

I often wonder if Adwin is a born engineer... cos he would try to dismantle almost everything he can get hold of... hahaha... see the pic below for the mechanical pencil which he had dismantled... all parts that can be removed are here...

** sorry for the blurness of the pic, cos this was taken under my office desk table... hee hee...

Lantern Festival...

This is something I had wanted to put quite sometime back...

My 2 kids taking their lanterns... hee hee... Adwin trying to imitate what Ashley is doing.

Singapore Flyer

The kids were asking for the Flyer's ride while we were flying kite, as they saw the Flyer from afar. And since we got the Flyer's friend membership, might as well make full use of it!! And the expiry is next year Jan, so I guess we'll try to go for more ride before the expiry...

We didn't know the Flyer was celebrating Hallowen and Ashley had a shock there, after she saw the make-over of a dracula or devil of the crew in the male toilet (WL brought her to pee)... And she was so frightened that she dare not go to the toilet when we were home last night!  Feel quite bad about it...

Don't think we had taken the ride during this timing... around 7pm, but we do not see any sunset... but the view is still awsome... cos the IR is like 80%, as in we can see the 3 hotels there and 2 of them had the link bridge up already... really look foward to the IR completion...

Adwin in mummy's office

Me had been following mummy to work since last monday... cos yiyi's new maid can't make it & she's getting another one... so meantime, I have to follow mummy to work, cos popo can't handle me & cousin caden @ the same time... haha...

See, me having a great time there... cos I can have everything I asked for, without jie-jie snatching from me! haha...  They have got a big mattress for me there, so I can have my nap...

Another visit to Marina Barrage

Daddy says Marina Barrage is now a place for picnic... So, we decided to go & have a look since the last visit was it's grand opening... hee hee..

Mummy went Chong Pang market to get lots of things for this picnic, while jie-jie having her art lesson, daddy busy with tuition... haha...

Mummy got daddy another butterfly kite, cos she say the big ship kite is so tough to get it up, so hope this super light one is easy!! hee hee... And, she also got some cut fruits, pears, chiku (daddy's fav) & papaya (jie-jie's fav)... And also got some cold herbal bottled drinks, a big box of kueh bolu (**did mummy spell correctly??)... And, mummy also got some coloring books & rolling crayons, she say just in case we are bored... And, she also got me & jie-jie each a bottle of the bubble!!! hahaha... this is interesting, cos she normally dun want me & jie-jie to touch this... hee hee...

But we did have a GREAT time there... daddy fly the butterfly kite up, & he had used up all the strings!!! & after that, he hand me the kite string holder... haha... see the pic below??  & he knows it's tiring just holding onto the holder, he got me a chair!! & mummy gave me a piece of pear to eat too!!  Daddy told mummy, some onlookers thought am just putting on a show, holding the holder with no strings attached, but after they look closely... they saw my high flying kite!!! hahaha... everyone was amazed!!!  hee hee...

Jie-jie was napping when we reached Marina Barrage... but when she woke up, she was busy with her bubble blowing... & kite flying was secondary to her!! hahaha...

And when we leave for Singapore Flyer around 6pm... we saw lots of kite flyers there... everyone was having a great time!!  Daddy & mummy agree this was a very nice place for family, we are sure to drop by again!! hee hee... :D

Poor thumb

I can't imagine I can be so clumsy as to shut the car's door with my thumb still on the car door frame!!! And see how badly I hurt my right thumb!! It was so damn painful... I wish at that point of time I can chop of the injured thumb!!  And it's still very painful now (4 hours later) & I had just pop in 2 panadols, hoping to lessen my pain... sob sob...

One will never know how important your thumb is only after you had injured it... even creating this post is painful, cos i need my thumb to hit the SPACEBAR!! & alot of things you do, does require the help of the thumb... haiz... I hope this post will remind me to be mindful of ALL my fingers in whatever things I do...

STOMP

WL had bought this STOMP tickets when they first launch the ticket sales, and the seats were wonderful, really center & I must say, this is one the of show we been that's really worth the $$...

It's really interesting, and the guy can really lead the audience even when he spoke nothing!!  With just clapping of hands, he can really lead the audience!!  I believe everyone must have enjoyed the show!!  Even when all the performers left the stage, everyone were clapping for more!!  I would definitely go for it if they were to come again!!

Oh yes, forgot to mention, we had our first try on the "Glutton Square" since they moved over to the Esplanade years ago... & it was quite nice, we (me & WL ONLY) enjoyed our dinner.  And we pop by the cafe @ the Library @ Esplanade for a brownie & coffee... wonderful!! haha... considering we only spent $30 for our dinner @ the Esplanade!!

Ashley graduated from Music Wonderland

Ashley finally graduated from one of the class we had signed her up with.... Music Wonderland!!  It was a mini concert for the parents on her last lesson... And next week she'll begin her new music class, Yamaha Junior Electone course!! And again, WL will have to go in with her to accompany her through the class.  I thought its a good chance for him to 'learn' organ at the same time.  Hope we can put our organ into good use since father & daughter are attending the same course this time!

Ashley performance was not fantastic, but I think it was a good exposure for her, we can really see that she likes music, but I feel her forte is not on performing... or is it due to the classmates?? haha... cos, I do see that she's enjoying and performing well in her Tien Siah class... :p

Weight of Adwin...

Adwin is finally putting on some weight!!!  Brought him to see Doc Liau again due to his running nose & cough... But lucky it was not very serious, everything under control in a weeks time...

And here's his weight... 12.1kg! :D

QQ2 - Auto Vacuum Cleaner

This is something mummy had wished for for years... Finally daddy say YES to getting one... And mummy was so delighted... after charging it, she 'send' her QQ2 off to work.... hee hee...

According to mummy, this is a better one compared to QQ, the name says it all... QQ2!! haha... This version comes with a docking station and QQ2 is able to go back to the base if it's on low battery while working...

Here's the pic of QQ2...

And this is the amount of dust it collect EVERYDAY!!!  Can you imagine?? Without this, we had been breathing in these dust everyday... OMG....

So mummy now have more free time every evening... but she has yet to find time to teach me & jie-jie to read!!!

Chinese Lantern Festival

This was our first year to bring the kids down to Chinatown for the Chinese Lantern Festival... As the actual day falls on the Saturday, so we took this opportunity to go Chinatown to see the light up...

The kids were really tired after the car trip down, as we were held in the jam along CTE that evening... so normally we would be able to reach Chinatown in about 40mins... but it took us more than an hour to reach that evening...

WL took this opportunity to buy the bak-kwa, since it's not the CNY season, so no long queue... but I find it quite expensive for the 1 pc of bak-kwa he had bought... :( BUT, Ashley LOVES it so much!! hahaha...

Sorry to say, the kids did not have the chance to hold the lanterns... hahaha....

Photo in which you can only see the mummy & not the 2 kids...

Hi-5 Concert

The tickets to watch Hi-5 in concert were bought very early... so we really rushed back from Phuket to catch them in action!!  But I think Ashley did enjoy it and they are really full of energy!! hahaha...

I noticed some parents were really bringing their babies to watch Hi-5 in action... & I do wonder, are their baby fans of Hi-5 or the parents??!!... hahaha... :p

Leaving Phuket....

We need to leave the place by 730am to catch our morning flight back to Singapore...  The vacation club was nice to prepare 2 breakfast box for our departure... Had forgotten to take a shot of whats in the box... but there were 3 croissants, a 3-pc sandwiched, butter & jam, a pack of Soymilk, yogurt, a box of fruits (watermelon, papaya, dragon fruit, pineapple & rockmelon) & 2 hard-boiled eggs, all in 1 BOX!! hahaha...

As we have no time for real shopping in Phuket, managed to buy some local food back from the airport for both our families... And realised the price of the souvenir are really much more expensive as compared to Jungceylon and Central Festival market...

Phuket -- Day 3

Day 3 is our last day to enjoy in Phuket... Happy days really passes very fast...

Today is the day we have to attend the 90mins presentation to be entitled for the super deal for this vacation... The sales person was really fast in his presentation, but we do get the picture of all these timeshare thing... but we do not think this is what we want for the moment, as it means we are 'tied' with Marriott when we try to plan for a holiday, else we would feel not really worth it since we would be paying for it..

The kids were really happy when we brought them to the pool... but it was super hot, so my 2 kids were sun burnt!! :p  And they managed to catch their sleep after 2 days of play in Phuket... hahaha... so me & WL were having some relax time, till I do not know what to do besides idling on the sofa... hahaha... BUT, I did managed to finish my laundry!! hahaa... WL was laughing at me, instead of taking the time to rest, I was busy with 'housework' again!! hahaha... Poor me... :(

We had wanted to head to Patong again, but as the kids were too tired, so we had to cancel this idea and stay put @ the suite for the day... We went for the club's Japanese buffet... ehm... WL were not very impressed, but managed to fill his tummy... haha...

After the dinner, we head back to our suite and prepare for the early morning departure...

Phuket -- Day 2

Our Day 2 was packed from morning till midnight!! hahaha....

We intend to go to the 2 biggest shopping malls in Phuket for Day 2, the Central Festival Market and Jungceylon @ Patong.  Our shuttle bus arrangement was for Central Festival Market and we reckon we can find our way to Jungceylon by taking the taxi... Lucky thing about Phuket is, the taxi rates are all fixed, so I guess it's something which Tourists can be assured that we would be on the chopping board after we board the taxis.

Not much shopping I must say, mainly window shopping and something for the kids.  As I find the things there were not really cheap, it's almost the same as in Singapore.  Guess Phuket is too much floated with Tourists and the prices had all been marked up!!  But the lunch we had @ Central were really cheap and good!  Especially their coffees, comparable to Gloria Jeans, I find, but the price is only a fraction of it!!

Another funny thing is, we forgot to bring all our swimwear!! hahaha... So we went Carrefour to grab some cheap swimwear just for the kids to enjoy the pool the next day! :p

My sis told me about this Phuket Fantasea which we must go when we are there... So, on the day of arrival, we had arranged for the tickets, cos the place only open at night from 6pm, we would have the whole day shopping before the show and buffet dinner there...

The kids had a great time here... They had their first elephant ride, photo shot to feed the baby tiger (which my sis had forgotten to tell me NOT to do it, cos she say a kid almost gotten bitten when they were there!!)...  We are really impressed with the theme park, cos we did not expect the place to be so big, there's even a safari adventure inside.. showcasing their white tigers!!  And this is even better then our Singapore Zoo, cos we can really get closed to the tigers!! And the kids love all the cuddling of the elephant stuff toys there....  Adwin was waiting eagerly for the elephant performance, but I guess he was really too tired, so he slept before the elephants came on stage!! But Ashley enjoyed the show totally!!

Phuket --- Day 1

We had booked Air Asia flight to Phuket on the Sunday morning... and was drizzling when we were on our way to the Airport, lucky my dad gave us a ride! hee hee...

The kids were very happy, as the last time Ashley took the flight was just before she turned 2, to Hong Kong, and it's Adwin's first flight before his 2nd birthday!!  The kids thought popo & gonggong were going with us till we asked them to bid bye before we went in.

The flight was about an hour and the half, lucky the kids were sleeping after the flight took off.  By the time we reached the vacation club, it was about 3pm.  I was really impressed with the 2 bedroom villa, everything is available in the villa, it's great for families with kids and elderly.

We thought the kids can enjoy the beach and play some sand before we head for our dinner, but were not aware that it's not safe for the kids during this time of the year, as the waves were really huge when we reach the Mai Khao Beach just behind the Vacation Club... so you can see from the pictures below, they were only playing with some sand near the sun tan benches there... :p

Interestingly, the place we stay in were also known as the Turtle Village, as most of you are aware, my Ashley is hooked onto her Tortoise since baby... so it was really fun for them, cos the welcome gift from the vacation club was a beach ball with a turtle inside!! And my Adwin keep asking me to bring the turtle out for him!! hahaha...  And there were lots of turtle stones around the club, pools and even the shopping mart!!

I managed to shot some of the things inside the villa, especially the kitchen!! I really love it!! Its equipped with EVERYTHING a housemaker wants!!  I HOPE my kitchen can be this some day.... hahaha... I also love their laundry room... cos when we go back to Singapore, I won't have LOADS of laundry to do!! I can wash & dry them the same day!! hahaha... FIRST time, having CLEANED clothings back home after a vacation!!! hahaha...

Our Short vacation to Phuket ---- 4D3N

This trip was really a last minute one, totally unplanned... WL got this flyer saying stay in a Suite in Phuket for 4D3N for USD250!!  We thought it was a really good deal... & of course there were attached terms & conditions to this good deal.... we will nee dot attend a 90mins presentation in Phuket... This good deal comes from the famous Marriott Vacation Club timeshare...  hahaha... But nevertheless, we were prepared NOT to buy it, just going there for a short break since it's the 1 week September break the coming week...

And all we have to do is to get the air tickets for us to fly to Phuket... and since we had never tried the budget airlines before, we thought it's a good chance to try them out especially since it's a short flight to Phuket...

And all these arrangement were done like a week before we fly... hahaha....

Stay tuned for my updates and pictures for our short vacation!!!  And, I must say, am impressed with the suite, a 2 bedroom suite!! :D

Ashley Art Exhibition

The art class Ashley attend on Sunday had an Art Exhibition the week before we left for Phuket, I was quite reluctant to let her participate, as mentioned to the teacher, I think she's still too young to appreciate.  But after hearing what he said, I thought to give it a try, hoping she'll learn to appreciate her art work! hahaha...

Anyway, WL was quite impressed to her 'work', though it's only 2 pc! haha...

Here they goes...
Proud Daddy showing Ashley's drawing.... BATS!

Drawing a BAD PERSON... PIRATES! :p

But I think, the class did help in developing her creativity!! Shall showcase more of her drawings, if available! :p

Teacher's day....

Ashley's childcare will be closed on Teacher's Day (1 Sept) and Children's Day (1 Oct).  Therefore, these 2 days, I would bring Ashley with me to work, cos she just love my office...  You know the reason??  As this is a place where she have access to her favourite stationery... i.e. Markers & white board, scissors, paper for her cut & glue!!  See how she's enjoying herself, her monkey face in front of the camera, and you will know how mischevious she is now!!  And mind you, she's also affecting her bro, Adwin, that's what they say, monkey see monkey do... therefore, I've got 2 monkies @ home!! hahaha...

See what my Adwin is doing at home too... :(
